Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and execute operational safety, workplace safety, emergency response, and crisis management protocols.
  • Ensure the refinery maintains its legal right to operate safely through rigorous safety practices.
  • Support the Refinery Safety Manager in strategic and tactical planning, implementation, and execution of safety programs.
  • Support refinery operational risk assessments, safety-critical job reviews, and deviation analyses.
  • Drive the implementation of safety controls, monitoring trends, verifying effectiveness, and communicating learnings for continuous improvement.
  • Implement contractors' and suppliers' safety management alongside refinery key stakeholders.
  • Support the Turnaround Safety Lead in planning, execution, and lesson learned activities during turnarounds.
  • Support Workplace Safety & Health Committee initiatives and execute site fire safety management.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in incident investigation teams, facilitating department-owned investigations when required.
  • Prepare and maintain the emergency response plan and execute training for the company's emergency response team to meet audit standards.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to drive operational safety, workplace safety, and emergency response protocols.
  • Commitment to ensuring compliance with corporate and local regulatory safety requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with refinery engineers, supervisors, front-line personnel, and the Corporate Safety Team.
  • Experience or knowledge in operational safety matters such as critical field controls and verifications.
  • Familiarity with implementing contractor safety management programs.
  • Willingness to participate in incident investigation as a subject matter expert.
