Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve refinery processes by executing modifications/improvements to the Distributed Control System (DCS), Safety Instrumented System (SIS), and other automation system applications in Pre-Treatment Units, Heat Treatment Unit & Tank farm.
  • Troubleshoot process deviations and lead major non-conformance investigations related to process control applications or safety interlock systems.
  • Develop and drive alarm management workflows for the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Act as change manager for PCS & SIS modifications, driving the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Lead or support capital investment projects involving changes to the DCS, SIS, or other automation system applications.
  • Ensure process safety through functional safety lifecycle management, including standards development and risk evaluation processes (Process Hazard Analysis, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL).
  • Develop and maintain documentation and specifications related to process/plant control and automation logics.
  • Utilize process monitoring & optimization management tools to optimize plant performance.
  • Share and implement best practices from Rotterdam and Porvoo refineries.
  • Participate as proof test leads to execute SIS proof testing during unit turnarounds.

Requirements

  • B Sc. or higher degree in chemical engineering or a relevant field with an understanding of Renewable products chemical processing unit operations and engineering.
  • At least 6 years of work experience in process control engineering and operations within the oil and gas, refining, or petrochemical industry.
  • Strong knowledge in Instrumentation and control design engineering management and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Responsible attitude and safety-oriented mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and computational thinking skills.
  • Good interpersonal and planning skills.
  • Ability to influence within local and global matrix organizations with cultural awareness.
