Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects that guide the direction of the business and execution of tactics within South East Asia, Australia/New Zealand, and Taiwan/Hong Kong.
- Develop strategic insights to inform content, product, marketing & brand decisions.
- Interface and maintain work and relationships with different departments - Content, Product, Design, PR, social, creative.
- Transform findings into recommendations that drive and support strategic decision making.
- Set strategy and identify new directions.
- Design research projects to proactively answer business critical questions.
- Roll up sleeves and be hands-on in research execution.
- Select the right methodology for the right questions using qualitative and quantitative techniques.
- Prioritize when to pursue a research project and when to push back.
- Build strong relationships with cross functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Deep understanding and proven track record of working across SEA, ANZ, and TW/HK markets.
- Background in entertainment research (TV, film, advertising) strongly preferred.
- Spent time living and working in APAC (preferably covering SEA, ANZ, and TW/HK) in a senior researcher role (ideally 10-15 years of experience).
- Depth of experience in developing strategic insights.
- Ability to interface and maintain work with different departments.
- Thrives on understanding consumer behavior and transforming findings into recommendations.
- Strong voice in setting strategy and identifying new directions.
- Significant experience in designing research projects.
- Master of primary research; secondary and foundational data/metrics knowledge helpful.
- Confident in both qualitative and quantitative research techniques.
- Great eyes for prioritization.
- Enjoys autonomy yet hates working in silos.
- Deep business acumen and ability to adapt to complex environment.
- Fluent English speaker; regional language preferred (Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, or Tagalog).
- Significant consumer insights experience, preferably in entertainment or tech industries.
- Experience in fast paced environment and globally distributed team.
- Experience in both qualitative and quantitative research with deep collaboration with analytics and data science.
