Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and care for a team of engineers to build and subsequently support key infrastructure in Microsoft's NPCs.
- Building a happy, safe and effective team culture and supporting processes.
- Building great partnerships with appropriate stakeholders (e.g. project managers and technical leads) to determine requirements and coach your team to do the same.
- Delivering against project plans, release plans, and work items in coordination with appropriate stakeholders.
- Coaching your team and driving their efforts to ensure the correct processes are followed to achieve requisite security, privacy, safety, and accessibility standards.
- Creating and assuring presence of evidence to demonstrate compliance.
- Implementing appropriate continuous feedback loops measuring customer value, usage patterns, and other actionable metrics of value.
- Building and maintaining communication with key partners across the Microsoft ecosystem of engineers.
- Acting as a key contact for leadership to ensure alignment with partners' expectations.
- Coaching others and driving efforts to integrate instrumentation for gathering telemetry data on system behaviour such as performance, reliability, availability, utility, and safety mechanisms.
- Driving sustainment of feedback loops from telemetry resulting in subsequent designs.
- Creating outputs of telemetry such as notifications or dashboards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, with at least 7 years of experience leading teams to design, develop and support products/solutions in complex IT environments.
- Strong leadership skills, able to develop and grow a diverse team of individuals to collaborate as a cohesive team in delivering outcomes.
- 3+ years' experience as a people manager.
- Strong knowledge of the foundations of secure IT infrastructure, IP networking and system administration.
- Knowledge or experience of security requirements, controls and solutions.
- Strong sense of accountability, solid project management and outstanding communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience of secure management environments utilising Active Directory, Group Policy, VPN, MECM, Windows Desktop deployments and application installations.
- Knowledge and experience deploying/configuring and maintaining Network environments (both in physical platforms and Azure) including: L2/L3 Routing (BGP) & Switching, Firewalls (NAT & ACLs), IPSEC VPN.
- Experience of being part of an international team working across multiple continents and cultures.
- Experience of the challenges of system and service management in high security domains.
- Knowledge of Cross Domain Solutions.
