Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Preventive and Overhaul Maintenance on PV according to planned schedule.
  • Perform Corrective Maintenance on PV and Plant Equipment as assigned by supervisors.
  • Execute modifications on PV as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Provide attendance to contractors and personnel from other sections during train access or work.
  • Perform ground shunter duty when required.
  • Undertake incidental tasks such as attending emergency mainline incidents or responding to OCC activation for stalled trains.
  • Work in a rotating shift system (Day and/or night shifts) without affecting concentration.

Requirements

  • Nitec Certificate in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform 3 rotating shift works.
  • Willingness to work in sheltered and non-sheltered areas within SMRT Depots.
  • Ability to climb staircases and ladders and stand for sufficient duration (4 hours) during maintenance.
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy items up to 10kg (men) / 7kg (women).
  • Ability to work under the train underframe for sufficient duration (4 hours), requiring squatting and bending.
  • Must not be sensitive or allergic to Rolling Stock Materials, POLs (Petrol, Oils and Lubricants), and dust.
  • Ability to work at height (WAH) on the train roof with necessary safety equipment.
