Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain a QMS to ensure compliance with Division and Abbott policies and procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Deliver safe and effective products that meet customer needs while maintaining compliance with Division and Abbott policies and procedures and applicable regulatory agency requirements.
  • Select, train and develop key staff to ensure availability of resources to support the Quality Management System (QMS) objectives along with short and long term business goals.
  • Serve as the Quality System Management Representative for the site.
  • Participate as a member of the on-site senior management team.
  • Develop and maintain a culture where Health and Safety is an individual and collective responsibility.
  • Provide overall leadership and direction to the Quality Assurance team to provide efficient support to plant operations.
  • Provide functional and strategic leadership and direction in quality, food safety and compliance to Abbott Nutrition Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure Abbott Nutrition Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures are fully implemented and operational for all raw materials, in-process and finished product.
  • Ensure that products are effectively inspected/ tested and that product/ process quality data are reviewed to conform with specifications.
  • Be responsible for releasing all products within the agreed time scale allowed for analysis.
  • Effectively collaborate across all operational and technical teams to assure product conformance and efficacy requirements are fulfilled.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing QA Department.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience.
  • Cross functional experience in operations, engineering or alternate technical function in addition to quality leadership.
  • Management of external regulatory inspections, audits, and experience liaising with competent authorities.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and develop employees.
  • Ability to motivate all departments to produce quality products.
  • Communicate clearly to all personnel.
  • Knowledge of nutritional/ pharmaceutical/ food manufacturing industry.
