Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CMP processes to enhance product quality and reliability for next-generation memory parts.
- Focus on improving process margins necessary to meet mature yield goals for 3D NAND parts.
- Conduct fundamental research, consumables development, and hardware evaluation for advanced 3D NAND CMP processes.
- Initiate and manage experiments to widen process margins and evaluate the manufacturability of next-node solutions.
- Collaborate extensively with vendors to develop processes meeting integration requirements for current and next-generation 3-D NAND nodes.
- Design and implement advanced process monitoring and control methodologies for CMP processes.
- Provide strategic roadmaps for N+, N++ and future NAND Nodes, advising management on significant technical issues.
- Lead complex, multi-functional projects critical to Micron's success and mentor junior team members on CMP fundamentals.
Requirements
- PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in the semiconductor industry with a background in Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP).
- Experience working on 300mm wafer fabrication.
- Hands-on experience operating CMP equipment such as AMAT (LKP), EBARA-300X, and next-generation CMP equipment.
- Proficiency with optical metrology, profilometry, polishing slurries, conditioners, and polishing pads.
- Experience in dielectrics/metals CMP process development on 3D NAND or other memory technology.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for local and remote technical discussions.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
