Key Responsibilities
- Design automation layouts and program robot automation scripts to automate assay/library preparation workflow steps.
- Serve as the robot automation development representative within the project team.
- Develop test and teaching protocols for liquid handling robot systems to ensure volume and positional accuracy/precision.
- Develop hardware, software, or workflow configurations for system prototypes used in V&V studies.
- Contribute to automation robot documentation (e.g., risk assessment, setup guides, workflow instructions).
- Perform Design of Experiments (DOE) and execute experiments for workflow integration and assay performance testing.
- Create and Execute Design Verification Test (DVT) and engineering study protocols, including data analysis and report drafting.
- Investigate and resolve system/sub-system level technical problems, setting technical goals with minimal guidance.
Requirements
- Demonstrated understanding of Array/Sequencing systems and technology.
- Technical proficiency, scientific creativity, and ability to collaborate independently.
- Experience programming automation scripts and optimizing assay/library preparation workflows on liquid handling robots (Tecan, Hamilton, Beckman, etc.).
- Understanding of different hardware components and subunits of liquid handling robots.
- Hands-on experience planning and executing DOE for problem-solving or root cause investigation.
- Experience writing and executing test plans/protocols to validate product performance and robustness.
- Competency in managing and analyzing large data sets using advanced analysis tools.
- Solid communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional project team.
