Key Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a corridor growth plan for Korea outbound to SEA opportunities, including target sectors, priority client lists, and measurable revenue outcomes; Originate new-to-bank and new-to-group opportunities across lending, transaction banking, markets, and advisory solutions (as applicable)
  • Identify Korea-to-SEA investment flows (FDI, supply chain relocation, treasury set-ups); Drive cross-sell and share-of-wallet expansion through structured client planning and opportunity pipeline management
  • Serve as the senior corridor lead for Korean HQ clients in SEA, ensuring consistent coverage and a high-quality client experience; Lead strategic dialogues with C-suite/treasury decision-makers on expansion, capital structure, liquidity, risk management, and working capital; Coordinate multi-country coverage for clients with footprints across ASEAN markets, ensuring clear ownership and disciplined follow-through
  • Act as the connector between Korea coverage teams and SEA country teams to ensure seamless handoffs, joint calling, and aligned account strategies; Mobilise product partners (e.g., Global Trade Solutions, Global Payments Solutions, Markets, Lending/Capital Financing, Securities Services) to deliver integrated solutions
  • Lead pipeline reviews, ensuring prioritisation, resource alignment, and timely escalation where needed
  • Develop a strong understanding of Korea HQ groups with sector themes relevant to SEA (e.g., electronics, automotive, energy transition, infrastructure, shipping/logistics, consumer, technology); Build external networks with Korean chambers, trade agencies, law firms, accounting firms and ecosystem partners for opportunities
  • Ensure all activities comply with applicable regulations, internal policies, and risk frameworks (KYC, AML, sanctions, suitability, credit discipline); Maintain robust pipeline hygiene, forecasting, and reporting; track performance against corridor KPIs
  • Work with relevant internal stakeholders including risk, compliance, and operations teams

Requirements

  • Proven experience in corporate/institutional banking with a strong track record in cross-border origination and corridor growth
  • Deep understanding of Korean HQ groups' requirements and the SEA business environment; proven ability to navigate multi-country complexity
  • Strong product knowledge across transaction banking, trade, markets and credit solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in a matrix organisation and deliver outcomes at pace
  • Strong credit analytical and financial skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable engaging senior executives
  • Korean proficiency required to manage Korean speaking clients
