Key Responsibilities
- 3.1 Train Service Controller (Train Control)
- Work as a team to effectively and efficiently manage the main functions of OCC; Train service regulation, Incident handling, Information dissemination and Track access management.
- Manage Train service delivery; regulate revenue train service on the mainline to provide a safe and reliable train service.
- Perform safely during routine and emergency situations as spelt out in the Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and other prevailing instructions o Regulate and monitor train service as reflected in timetable scheduled, ensuring trains are running on time, intended connections are made, routes are set appropriately o Communicate clearly and effectively with duty staff on board the train , and provide instructions when required o Report all train faults to Chief Controller immediately o Control track access during Traffic Hours safely
- Incident Management o Manage incident safely at all times o Provide accurate and effective information to passengers and staff o Determine the incident for follow up action quickly, liaise, instruct and provide effective assistance for ground staff on incident handling o Recover partial train service and minimize section affected effectively o After recovery of incident, manage information dissemination and recovery of train service effectively to minimize passenger delay o Putting trains back to their timetable schedules as soon as possible after a delay/disruption 3.2 Train Service Controller (Stations Control)
Requirements
- Diploma in any discipline preferably with engineering background or other qualifications with more than 3 years railway experience. Skills Skills
- Able to work under stressful environmental and able to make sound and safe decision while handling train incidents
- Proficient and confident to operate computer systems Leadership Competencies
