Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of greenfield projects, M&A transactions, joint ventures, and strategic investments across SEA.
- Support project teams through contract negotiation, execution, and achieving financial close for energy projects.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents including SPAs, JV agreements, PPAs, EPC contracts, and financing agreements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Sembcorp Group policies across operating jurisdictions.
- Provide legal input on regulatory and licensing frameworks in SEA, liaising with local external counsel as needed.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Business Development, Finance, Tax) to mitigate legal and commercial risks.
- Manage general corporate matters in SEA, including entity establishment and governance.
Requirements
- Degree in Law from a recognized university.
- Minimum 12 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
- Minimum 4 years of legal practice in a reputable law firm.
- Experience in energy projects, EPC contracts, and O&M contracts is required.
- Proven experience with cross-border transactional projects and project financing.
- Ability to work independently and proactively engage with business leads on project structuring.
