Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Group Audit methodology, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct periodic quality assurance reviews of audit engagements to assess compliance with the audit methodology and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide guidance and training to audit teams on audit methodology, tools, and techniques to enhance audit quality and effectiveness.
- Monitor and report on key audit metrics, including audit plan completion, issue tracking, and remediation progress.
- Coordinate with external auditors, regulators, and other assurance providers to ensure consistent and efficient coverage.
- Lead or participate in initiatives to enhance audit processes, including the adoption of data analytics and automation tools.
- Prepare and present audit committee and management reports on audit quality, methodology, and governance matters.
- Stay abreast of emerging risks, regulatory changes, and industry trends to proactively update audit practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, or CISA is required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in internal audit, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of audit methodology, risk management, and internal control frameworks.
- In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements and expectations for internal audit functions in banks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues to senior management and audit committees.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in data analytics and audit automation tools is preferred.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
