Key Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing legal support and advise business heads on matters concerning financing, banking, leases, M&A, intellectual property, sanctions, data protection, and anti-competition.
- Draft essential legal documents such as MOUs and Joint Venture contracts.
- Advise the Finance team on negotiating banking documentation for loans and financial agreements with institutions.
- Provide legal counsel on a wide range of issues related to marine and offshore industry contracts (e.g., Shipbuilding, EPC, charters, carriage agreements).
- Review and advise on commercial transactions, including contract negotiations, letters of intent, and various legal notices.
- Manage litigation matters, liaising with external counsel, controlling costs, and coordinating information flow.
- Conduct legal research into potential litigation to formulate company strategy and analyze risk/chances of success.
- Address general legal queries from internal business stakeholders across various departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Law or equivalent from a recognized university.
- 3 to 5 years of Post Qualified Experience (PQE) in a law firm or corporate in-house legal environment.
- Proven experience in civil and commercial litigation and contract drafting.
- Strong knowledge of laws applicable to the company’s operations and businesses.
- Sound understanding of domestic and cross-border/regional dispute resolution litigation.
- Strong communication skills with a commercially savvy approach to legal matters.
