Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support during commercial discussions regarding variation orders, scope changes, and cost disputes with project stakeholders.
- Review telecommunication systems deliverables from engineering sub-contractors (e.g., SLDs, cable schedules, layouts) to ensure compliance with contract and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor the progress of engineering design activities against the overall project execution plan.
- Perform system design verification, including sound coverage calculations, link budgets, and redundancy cabling checks.
- Review procurement engineering documents (specifications, data sheets, MTO) and participate in vendor selection processes.
- Act as the lead representative during vendor Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Address comments from clients, classification societies, and third-party consultants.
- Oversee post-takeover telecommunication engineering activities, including document updating, vendor review, and construction support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-10+ years of experience in telecom systems, preferably within offshore, marine, or oil & gas projects.
- Proven experience with telecom systems including PABX, radio, CCTV, PAGA, and data networks.
- Familiarity with offshore/marine standards such as IEC, IMO, DNV, and ABS.
- Demonstrated experience in engineering design, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Strong ability to communicate technical issues clearly with vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to lead or mentor junior engineering staff.
- Comfortable working in shipyard or offshore environments.
