Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high uptime, execute preventive maintenance (PM), and coordinate vendors to resolve hardware and software issues on advanced tools (Focused Ion Beam, Reactive Ion Etchers, Nano-probers, SEMs, TEMs).
- Partner with equipment owners, lab operations, EHS, and external OEMs to sustain capability and drive MTBF/MTTR improvements.
- Design new lab spaces with strict environmental controls, including vibration, EMI, and acoustics.
- Lead structured troubleshooting and root-cause eradication using methodologies like 5-Why, Ishikawa, and FMEA; convert escapes into standard work.
- Serve as the single point of contact for OEMs and third-party service providers, coordinating field service, escalations, and remote diagnostics.
- Manage service contracts, PM bundles, and time-and-materials events, tracking vendor KPI adherence.
- Enforce strict compliance with LOTO, ESD, chemical/gas handling, UHV safety, and radiation/beam protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering or Mechanical/Electrical with a mechatronics focus.
- Hands-on maintenance experience with complex capital equipment involving vacuum systems, motion/servo control, pneumatics, high voltage, and embedded SW/FW.
- Demonstrated ability in systematic troubleshooting and reading electrical/pneumatic schematics.
- Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscope, DMM, leak detector, and RGA.
- Experience in failure analysis tools, including alignments, stage/probe calibration, and column health.
- Effective communication with vendors and cross-site teams under time pressure.
