Key Responsibilities

  • Work effectively with Operations and Maintenance staff from the Lines as well as other engineering departments to investigate defects.
  • To develop methods, propose modifications and improve maintenance strategies to rectify them.
  • Analyze and trend condition monitoring and defect data to identify reliability concerns.

  • Draft technical work instructions for preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Identify and implement cost effective technologies to enhance SMRT Signaling, Communication & Control System performance.
  • Support LTA and SMRT projects in reviewing project design specifications and ensure their adequacy for the safety, reliability, maintainability and operability.
  • To provide other engineering support to the projects, as required.
  • Identify and report any safety concerns at the workplace.
  • Undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works, as assigned by supervisor.
  • Work in any SMRT lines or Maintenance Depots.
  • Work in rotating or fixed shifts

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent from recognized institution
  • Previous Railway System experience would be advantageous
  • Adept with diagnostic and reliability engineering methodologies, such as Weibull Analysis, Failure Mode and Effect Criticality Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and Best practices in Maintenance Science
  • Exhibit Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable to work hands-on in a maintenance workshops environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers.
  • Able to work independently and as a team.
  • Fluent in written and spoken skills in English
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English
