Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed analysis of standard vs. actual labor hours to identify deviations
- Calculate labor efficiency variance and interpret findings to highlight improvement opportunities
- Perform time studies to validate assumptions and evaluate current work practices
- Develop value stream maps to visualize current workflows and uncover bottlenecks or inefficiencies
- Facilitate gap analysis to determine the root causes behind labor hour variances
- Apply the DMAIC (Define–Measure–Analyze–Improve–Control) framework to structure problem‑solving activities
- Coordinate and support Kaizen workshops to drive improvement ideas and solutions
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement, test, and validate corrective actions
- Create or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) reflecting improved workflows
- Develop training materials to support the adoption of new processes
Requirements
- In third year of university pursuing Bachelor of Engineering (Industrial & Systems Engineering)
- In third year of university pursuing Bachelor of Technology (Industrial & Management Engineering)
- Equivalent specialisation within NTU MAE or similar institutions
- Strong ability to interpret data, diagnose problems, and propose effective solutions
- Self‑starter with strong initiative and ownership mindset
