Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of M&A, divestment, and capital raising transactions across the energy and infrastructure sector, including buyside and sellside mandates.
- Act as a key day‑to‑day execution resource on live transactions, coordinating workstreams and ensuring timely, high‑quality delivery of outputs to senior bankers and clients.
- Assist in transaction structuring, feasibility assessment, and evaluation of strategic alternatives, with clear articulation of valuation, risk, and commercial implications.
- Own the development, review, and interpretation of complex financial models, including M&A valuation models, acquisition and hold‑co models, project finance models, and scenario/sensitivity analyses.
- Translate financial outputs into clear insights and recommendations to support investment decisions, negotiations, and internal approvals.
- Prepare and review client‑facing materials, including investment memoranda, management presentations, and pitchbooks, ensuring clarity, analytical rigour, and consistency of messaging.
- Support senior bankers in client meetings, negotiations, and internal committee discussions by providing well‑structured analysis and concise explanations of key issues.
- Coordinate and review financial, commercial, and technical due diligence findings, integrating inputs from internal teams and external advisors into transaction analysis.
- Analyse asset‑level and portfolio‑level performance across energy and infrastructure assets, identifying key value drivers, risks, and potential optimisation opportunities.
- Conduct market, sector, and stakeholder analysis to identify potential sellers, buyers, and investors, informed by macro, regulatory, and sector developments.
- Work closely with external stakeholders including legal counsel, technical consultants, and regulators to support transaction execution and documentation.
- Manage multiple concurrent workstreams across overlapping transactions, maintaining delivery standards in fast‑paced and evolving deal environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or Engineering; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- 4-8 years of relevant experience in M&A, corporate finance, or investment banking, with a focus on energy, renewables, or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong financial modeling skills, including DCF, LBO, merger models, and project finance models.
- Proven track record in executing M&A transactions, including due diligence, valuation, and documentation.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing pitchbooks and client presentations.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Team player with the ability to work effectively with senior bankers, clients, and external advisors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- CFA charterholder or progress towards CFA is preferred.
- Knowledge of the Asia-Pacific energy and infrastructure market is a plus.
