Key Responsibilities
- Assist fintech and digital banking clients in uplifting regulatory compliance processes and controls, including developing policies and procedures.
- Advise financial institutions on regulatory definitions, interpretations, and performing quality reviews of existing risk processes and controls.
- Develop relevant regulatory risk processes and controls to help manage clients' regulatory obligations.
- Collaborate with clients to identify growth opportunities, review business plans/license applications, and define target operating models.
- Develop regulatory governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to enable effective management of regulatory risks for financial institutions.
- Provide internal audit services and act as a regulatory specialist resource for clients on various projects.
- Deliver customized training to financial institution executives on banking and capital markets laws and regulations.
- Support business development initiatives, including proposal preparation and presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in Accountancy, Banking and Finance, or Law.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in financial institutions, compliance advisory firms, or public accounting firms.
- Sound understanding of the key operations of a banking institution, capital markets intermediary, and/or payment services provider.
- Knowledge of Singapore’s Banking Act, Securities and Futures Act, Financial Advisers Act, and/or Payment Services Act and subsidiary legislations.
- Understanding of derivatives and financial instruments is required.
- Keen interest in risk and controls, fintech/regtech, and the financial services landscape.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across KPMG and client organizations.
