Key Responsibilities
- Conduct investigations into new laser sustained plasma technology, including performance simulations and experimental design.
- Construct research setups for experiments involving laser-sustained plasma systems.
- Perform independent and collaborative research to characterize plasma and analyze experimental data to demonstrate desired performance.
- Develop architectures for LSP prototypes based on high-level system requirements, considering reliability and cost.
- Collaborate with laser, optics, manufacturing, electrical, and software scientists to prove feasibility and mitigate technical risks.
- Document concepts, designs, and experimental data clearly, presenting findings to achieve final release targets.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Sound academic training in plasma physics, fluid mechanics, nuclear physics, atomic physics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in system-level laser-sustained plasma performance studies (experimental and theoretical).
- Experience building and operating complex optical benches.
- Familiarity with approaches/challenges in laser-induced or sustained plasma, nuclear physics, or high energy physics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be a team player.
