Key Responsibilities
- Work in any SMRT Maintenance Depots or facilities and comply with all Safety Requirements.
- Work in rotating or fixed shifts.
- Assist the Section Manager for the management, supervision and safety of the work teams in the Component Servicing Center.
- Manage staff welfare, participate in hands-on works and implement safety improvement initiatives.
- Assist the Section Manager for the planning, scheduling, coordination and optimization of workshop resources and activities to ensure that production, quality, reliability and safety KPIs are met and support the MKBF reliability target of the SMRT Trains.
- Perform hands-on trouble shooting of faults, technical investigation, failure trend analysis and liaise with key stakeholders including maintenance, engineering, system management departments and LTA to develop and implement technical solutions and modifications.
- Review Work Instructions and Risk Assessments to ensure relevance and adequacy.
- Work with Engineering and System Management Departments to perform obsolescence management for the workshop.
- Responsible to perform continuous improvement initiative to enhance the capability and quality of the workshop.
- Responsible to Section Manager to ensure that internal processes are in place and enforced in accordance with policies, procedures, circulars and manuals stipulated in SMRT Trains.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution.
- Experience in railway or component servicing works would be advantageous.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable to work hands-on in a maintenance workshops environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers.
- Able to work independently and as a team effectively adjusting oneself flexibly to different work situations.
- Strong technical skills and decision-making abilities.
- Effective organizational and planning skills.
- Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English.
