Key Responsibilities
- Solve complex, novel, and non-recurring problems; initiate significant changes to existing processes/methods and lead development and implementation
- Conduct engineering evaluations and analysis to drive closure of production issues
- Influence technical decisions that have a significant impact on the final product
- Develop and apply new debug techniques to enhance technical depth in Product and Test Engineering
- Collaborate on or assume consultative or leadership responsibilities for specific projects or product development initiatives
- Upscale overall team capabilities on low-level system debug for both the AMD server enterprise product families
- Drive technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across debug effectiveness, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement
Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
- 5+ years relevant industry experience
- Strong analytical skills and experience in system-level debug
- Comfortable working with hardware, firmware, and software interactions
- Solid understanding of high-speed digital design, signal integrity, DDR memory, and standard interfaces (PCIe, USB, SATA, xGMI)
- Knowledge of BIOS, Firmware, OS, and driver interactions at the system level
- Strong understanding of x86 CPU architecture
- Programming/scripting skills (C, C++, Perl, Ruby, Python)
- Proficiency with Windows, Unix, and Linux environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
