Key Responsibilities

  • Leads, trains, and supervises a team of buyers to efficiently procure assigned commodities materials to support manufacturing plants, and compliance with organizational policies
  • Manage all materials shortages for assigned purchasing commodities in working closely with Supplier Account Management/Suppliers and respective functions to ensure supply continuity to keep production lines running
  • Coordinates/drives purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels. Leads problem resolution for material related accounting and receiving issues
  • Take lead on internal and external relationships to ensure consistent, timely and effective communication regarding material availability
  • Work with respective functions; engineering, MPM, SCM etc. to ensure Bill of Materials (BOM) integrity and accuracy in driving materials requirement
  • Reviews MRP on a regular basis. Identifies issues and escalates as necessary to materials management. Reviews and ensures actions per disposition of ECOs on a worldwide basis
  • Maintains inventory levels per plan and performs E&Z analysis. Minimizes excess and zero demand inventory. Provides input to management regarding action plans to address long term issues
  • Design, develop and implement flexible solutions to aid Supply and Purchasing efficiency, drive process improvements and add value
  • Develops methods of business simplification for the procurement function. Assists or participates with the development of ISO documents for the purchasing function
