Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, coordinate and execute internal audit projects in accordance with audit methodology and standards, within the time budgets and target dates.
  • Supervise, coach and review the work of the team members (including outsourced auditors and guest auditors), where necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide meaningful, actionable, value-added and cost-effective recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed workpapers on control issues and recommendations made.
  • Draft clear, concise, and accurate reports for management and the Audit Committee.
  • Perform follow-up reviews on previous audit/ management self-identified issues to ensure that actions are taken promptly to address the issues.
  • Design the audit program to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of controls identified through the Group's Integrated Assurance Framework.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual audit plan.
  • Conduct special audits, investigations and advisory reviews as and when required.
  • Contribute ideas to corporate training program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy or finance preferred. Other relevant bachelor's degrees will be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in audit, compliance and/or investigation role.
  • Professional certification such as CPA/CA, CIA, CISA or CFE is preferred.
  • Willing to travel up to 20% a year for internal audit projects and investigations.
  • Experience in data analytics, AI-enabled auditing and/or auditing within industries and markets (e.g China, India) similar to Sembcorp's will be advantageous.
  • Good analytical and critical thinking skills are required to identify irregularities, internal control gaps and areas for improvements.
  • Agile and with strong project management and planning skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (verbal and written) in both English and Chinese to comfortably communicate to all levels of management and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and maintain a level of professional skepticism.
  • A good leader and team player, dynamic, commercially astute and able to work with management and team members across diverse cultures and geographies.
