Key Responsibilities

  • Develop end-to-end joining and additive manufacturing solutions (parameters, deposition strategies), including required pre-processing and post-processing, for laser, e-beam and arc-based processes, brazing and soldering for cladding, repair, manufacturing and remanufacturing applications
  • Perform material evaluation (e.g. microstructural and defects analysis) and material testing, as well as the necessary sample preparation and heat treatment for the processed parts
  • Operate robotic and/or CNC systems for welding and DED processes
  • Develop customized CAD/CAM modules for advanced toolpath planning in welding and joining processes
  • Develop deposition strategies and generate post-processors for robot-based manufacturing processes
  • Develop, design, and implement new hardware modules for arc and laser-based DED processes
  • Integrate hardware & software for process monitoring and control in robotic hybrid manufacturing processes
  • Equipment and/or process owner for welding and joining machines, and/or for other relevant equipment - ensure equipment and operators compliance, develop / maintain standard operating procedures, risk assessments and safe working procedures, provide guidance / training as required
  • Any other ad-hoc work for the team, Group, Organisation and A*STAR with possible secondary roles
