Key Responsibilities
- Lead / support the technical execution and delivery of projects in thermoforming, composite moulding or polymer melt-flow processes
- Prepare 2D & 3D CAD drawings for component and tooling
- Conduct prototype fabrication, pre-production fitment trials, product quality control and laboratory tests, to ensure timely project delivery
- Conduct material characterization and material testing for polymer and composites
- Conduct part failure analysis and FE simulations as required for product redesign and improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of production work orders, laboratory data, methodologies, results and technical drawings
- Prepare presentation and reports, research project proposals and risk assessment/ safe work procedure documents
- Support in the sourcing, quotation and procurement of project consumables and services
- Lead/Support the innovation and development of other polymer process technologies
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Material Science & Engineering or equivalent
- Proficiency in using CAD software with at least 1 year experience in mechanical design
- Comfortable with handling heavy equipment operations, conduct physical experiment work and process troubleshooting
- Prior hands-on experience in polymeric material processing, specifically in thermoforming, injection moulding or composite processing, will be highly advantageous
- Strong willingness to acquire new knowledge and skills, including material testing, design of jigs for part testing, Singapore Airworthiness Regulation requirements, etc
- Exemplary attention to detail and technically inclined towards process and laboratory work
- Comfortable with customer/vendor interactions and adept in handling project negotiations
- Basic knowledge in finite element structural modelling or any experience in process simulation (optional)
