Key Responsibilities
- Study new technologies and evaluate generative AI-driven robotic and automation tools to make recommendations
- Validate new concepts for systems or methods using virtual models, simulations, and physical prototypes
- Design and develop physical and software modules, programs, and other system components
- Test and validate the systems and solutions developed by other project team members
- Support seniors to develop detailed technical proposals addressing complex industry challenges in automation and robotics
- Contribute to robotics and automation system development for both grant-funded research and industrial problem statements
- Support senior staff in engaging with System Integrators and vendors to deploy AI-based systems in factory shopfloors or warehouses
- Write and maintain technical documentation of project work and deliver presentations
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering
- 0-2 years of experience in developing AI/ML-based robotics and automation systems
- Experience in software programming using Python and C / C++
- Hands-on experience with industrial robot arms and cobots for automation development projects
- Experience in 3D Simulation tools such as Visual components, Isaac Sim, or Gazebo
- Experience or exposure to robotic picking and placement/packing applications
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills with the ability to work hands-on with limited supervision
- Practical knowledge in applying Generative AI or Reinforcement Learning is a strong plus
- Knowledge of Robot Operating System (ROS / ROS 2) and mechanical design (CAD) is preferred
