Key Responsibilities
- Support AWS's worldwide data center expansion through land acquisitions, leases, zoning entitlement work and serviced licenses.
- Have transactional drafting and negotiating responsibilities on deals.
- Provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a daily basis.
- Structure, draft and negotiate agreements and leases.
- Help support AWS's existing portfolio.
- Manage outside counsel.
- Advise internal business clients.
- Help develop, implement, and manage process improvements across the team.
- Resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships.
- Handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
Requirements
- 3+ years of legal experience.
- Qualified lawyer with outstanding academic and legal qualifications.
- Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of real estate transactional documents (i.e. leases, lease amendments, purchase and sale agreements, easements, development agreements, co-ownership agreements etc.).
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work (preferred).
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines (preferred).
- Experience with development/entitlement work (preferred).
