Key Responsibilities
- Lead engagements with portfolio companies to advance ESG practices, address key risks, and drive long-term sustainable returns, resilience, and value creation
- Conduct analysis on ESG-related risks, opportunities, and developments to inform engagement priorities and generate portfolio-level insights
- Work closely with stakeholders across the Sustainability Group, Portfolio Development Group and other functions to drive and deliver sustainability engagements and initiatives
- Contribute to the development and application of frameworks, tools, and approaches to strengthen portfolio monitoring and effectiveness of engagements
- Track, assess, and communicate progress of portfolio companies on sustainability performance, including identifying key KPIs, monitoring outcomes, and driving follow-through on agreed actions
- Prepare and deliver internal and external updates on portfolio sustainability progress, surfacing key insights, implications, and forward-looking actions to inform decision making
- Support thematic workstreams and cross-cutting sustainability topics, including contributing to internal perspectives and best practices, as well as identifying portfolio- and system-level opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Public Policy, Sustainability, or related disciplines; Master's degree or higher is preferred
- At least eight years of work experience in sustainability, investment management, or consulting, with prior experience in portfolio engagement or strategy execution on sustainability matters
- Strong understanding of ESG risks and opportunities, especially in critical sustainability themes (climate, social and nature), and their implications for business performance, strategy, and long-term value creation
- Demonstrated ability to translate material ESG priorities into operational, financial, strategic decision making and value creation
- Collaborative, curious and agile in working in diverse teams and a fast-changing environment – including work hours that can extend across global time zones
- Team player with strong intercultural awareness, ownership, and work ethic, with demonstrated ability to manage and execute across multiple initiatives — including structuring workstreams, tracking progress, and delivering outcomes beyond initial scope
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and clarity in presenting complex information
- Familiarity with the use of artificial intelligence and data or dashboarding tools
