Key Responsibilities
- Enhance the safety and reliability of the railway infrastructure system by leading workflow effectiveness and efficiency improvement of its inspection, maintenance, and other supplementary activities.
- Subject to deployment, the scope can include the track, third rail, point, viaduct, tunnel, station and/or depot infrastructure assets.
- Conduct defect troubleshooting, failure analysis, reliability trending, engineering studies, maintenance/renewal planning, asset management planning, supply chain management planning, and/or develop solutions to problem statements identified.
- Provide technical advice to team members as well as resolve complex issues pertaining to the railway infrastructure and/or frontline engineering train faults.
- Involved in the engagement and management of contractors and stakeholders in ensuring the achievement of operating standards and quality standards.
- Conduct training, assessment and develop training material in his/her area of expertise as required.
- Subject to business needs, professional development, and/or succession planning, be rotated within or across divisions.
- Work in any SMRT depots, tracks or facilities.
- Work in rotating or fixed shifts.
- Support the division's efforts to achieve daily, short-term, and long-term objectives and Key Performance Indicators.
- Responsible to ensure the timely completion of all duties and/or projects.
- Work effectively with Operations and Maintenance staff from the Lines as well as other engineering and projects departments to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient daily operations.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical / Electronics / Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution.
- Previous Railway System experience would be advantageous.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable to work hands-on in office and site environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers.
- Must also be able to work in different shift timings, when required.
- Adept with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis and Damage Tolerance Analysis, etc.
- Proficient at Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficiency in Python and MATLAB would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Effective organizational and planning skills.
- Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English.
