Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design vision for workplace projects from conception through completion.
- Manage the internal design approval process across multiple project phases.
- Review and comment on design and construction documents to ensure alignment with established design standards and guidelines.
- Guide the overall design direction, ensuring timely decision-making on all project details including unique materials and systems.
- Oversee the quality of documentation provided by consultants to ensure it is fully detailed and coordinated.
- Maintain open dialogue with internal stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and external parties to ensure projects meet all established parameters regarding schedule and budget.
- Coordinate prototypes, mock-ups, and samples, providing expert commentary on their execution.
- Organize, update, and archive all project design deliverables.
- Share lessons learned and provide feedback to support the development of future standards and guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of professional experience with strong leadership skills to advocate for design on behalf of Apple.
- Proven design management experience working with internal and external cross-functional teams globally in corporate or workplace design.
- Exceptional ability to develop and convey compelling designs, implementation strategies, and overall design direction succinctly.
- Successfully managed multiple concurrent projects/priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills to build strong relationships across all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in design tools such as CAD/Revit, presentation software, or rendering tools.
- Ability to understand and interpret applicable building codes, local regulations, and regional laws including accessibility requirements.
- In-depth technical understanding of commercial construction and related trades/engineering disciplines.
