Key Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders to understand and set cost targets for managed categories.
- Lead competitive bid processes, analysis, price negotiation, cost reduction initiatives, and business awards with key suppliers.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders to understand requirements and formulate strategic sourcing plans.
- Ensure consistent supply from NPI through mass production, coordinating closely with production sites as needed.
- Manage supplier performance against contractual requirements to meet AMD's short- and long-term needs.
- Implement contracts to minimize AMD risk and ensure supplier accountability for non-performance.
- Provide timely results, especially during sudden demand increases requiring expedited deliveries and supply assurance.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree plus 8 years of experience in a related technical (preferably mechanical) or business field.
- OR MBA plus 3 years of experience in a related technical or business field.
- Ability to collaborate closely with stakeholders and vendors to build commodity management strategies.
- Strong ability to handle high-stress, fast-paced environments during NPI and production ramps.
- Proactive, self-driven, and agile mindset with a fast-learning ability.
- Good understanding of equipment/system configuration and its application is highly recommended.
