Key Responsibilities

  • Work in any SMRT depots, tracks or facilities
  • Work in rotating or fixed shifts (i.a.w. MOM guidelines)
  • Support the division's efforts to achieve daily, short-term, and long-term objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Responsible to ensure the timely completion of all duties and/or projects, as assigned
  • Work effectively with Ops and Maintenance staff from the Lines as well as other engineering and projects departments to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient daily operations
  • Identify safety and reliability concerns of the railway infrastructure system and develop solutions to overcome them
  • Draft technical work instructions for preventive and corrective maintenance activities and/or quality procedures
  • Identify, propose, and implement cost effective technologies, and/or changes to process and/or maintenance regime to enhance railway infrastructure system performance
  • Support LTA and SMRT projects in reviewing project design specifications and ensure their adequacy for the safety, reliability, maintainability, and operability
  • Assist in planning of annual budget and workplan for his/her unit
  • Identify and report any safety concerns at the workplace
  • Undertake any other tasks or functions that are supplementary to the performance of the works, as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical / Electronics / Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution
  • Previous Railway System experience would be advantageous
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable to work hands-on in office and site environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers
  • Must also be able to work in different shift timings, when required
  • Adept with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis and Damage Tolerance Analysis, etc
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency in Python and MATLAB would be advantageous
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Effective organizational and planning skills
  • Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English
