YOUR ROLE We have an exciting new opportunity for a Facilities & HSEQ Manager to take site-wide accountability for Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) compliance and facilities management within a new and exciting start up implementation in Derby. This is a pivotal on-site leadership role, ensuring the operation is safe, legally compliant, audit-ready and fit for purpose, while enabling operational leaders to deliver performance safely and sustainably. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? Reporting to the Senior General Manager, you will act as the site authority for HSEQ and facilities governance, providing independent assurance, challenge and support across a complex, fast-paced ecommerce logistics environment. You will own the HSEQ and facilities frameworks, lead internal and external audit activities and incident management, and ensure buildings, infrastructure and contractor activities fully support operational performance and growth. You will ensure full compliance with UK legislation, internal HSEQ policies and customer standards, maintain robust HSEQ management systems, including risk assessment, SSOW, COSHH, fire safety and environmental control. You will lead investigations into site-based accidents and near misses where you will analyse root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions. This role will see you leading site-based training and statutory compliance activities, ensuring participation, governance and completion. You will support in training materials, liaising with centralized HSEQ functions and embed localized frameworks that meet site based and organisational standards. This role requires strong presence, credibility and influence, with the confidence to challenge at all levels while maintaining collaborative relationships, you will work in collaboration with centralized HSEQ teams and also lead a HSEQ coordinator to support with onsite activities, where you will embed a high performance, engaging and continuous improvement mindset. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? To be successful in your application you will be able to demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours: Proven HSEQ and Facilities management experience, ideally within an ecommerce, operational or production environment. Previous people management, mentoring and coaching experience. Strong working knowledge of UK health & safety and environmental legislation. Experience in leading audits, investigations, and compliance frameworks. Experience of engaging with customers, auditors and regulatory bodies. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Natural problem-solving skills with the ability to think bigger-picture. Highly organized, resilient, and calm under pressure. NEBOSH certification would be desirable. You will be joining a new start up operation, therefore we are looking for a resilient and flexible individual, while the role is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, in the initial stages of implementation flexibility will be required.
