Key Responsibilities

  • Uplifting fintech and digital banking clients' regulatory compliance processes and controls, including developing regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Advising financial institutions on regulatory definitions and interpretations, performing quality reviews of existing risk processes and controls.
  • Developing relevant regulatory risk processes and controls to help manage institutions’ regulatory obligations.
  • Reviewing business plans, license applications, new products/services, and defining target operating models for clients.
  • Developing regulatory governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to enable effective management of regulatory risks.
  • Providing internal audit services and deploying regulatory specialist resources for short-to-long term projects.
  • Providing customized training to clients, including senior executives, on banking and capital markets laws and regulations.
  • Driving business development initiatives alongside the Solutions team, including ideation of regulatory risk management tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Accountancy, Banking and Finance, or Law.
  • At least 6-7 years of relevant experience in financial institutions, compliance advisory firms, or public accounting firms.
  • Sound understanding of the key operations of a banking institution, capital markets intermediary, and/or payment service provider.
  • Knowledge of Singapore’s Banking Act, Securities and Futures Act, Financial Advisers Act, and/or Payment Services Act and subsidiary legislations.
  • Understanding of derivatives and financial instruments is required.
  • Keen interest in risk and controls, fintech/regtech, and the financial services landscape.
  • Ability to work across KPMG and clients at various organizational levels and with diverse cultures.
