Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety procedures in the Laboratory.
- Work in a clean-room Fab facility and Chemical Laboratory environment
- Follow the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) to analyze routine samples and report to internal customer
- Use analytical techniques and instrumentation such as chromatography, spectroscopy, titration, particle sizing, volume measurement and weight measurement
- Perform sample, standard and reagent preparation, such as vapor phase deposition (VPD), extraction, digestion and series dilution.
- Responsible for monitoring and sustaining equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on assigned tools
- Collaborate with area engineers to troubleshoot analytical issues and equipment issues
- Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities, including 6S audit, housekeeping, maintaining stock of reagents, standards, spare parts and consumables
- Keep the Chemistry Laboratory Manager updated on tool and area issues
Requirements
- Diploma in Applied Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical/Material/Biomedical Science or Environmental Science/Eng is preferred or related field of study
- Fresh diploma graduates or 1-2 years of working experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Proven ability to troubleshoot basic problems and address root causes
- Solid multi-tasking and prioritization skills
- Proven ability to be a proactive problem solver
- The ability to be flexible with job responsibilities and take the initiative to assume added responsibilities
- Successfully demonstrated teamwork skills with a strong focus on effective team dynamics
- Theoretical and/or operational knowledge of analytical equipment, such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, GC/LC-MS, Titration, LPC, Assay, pH and conductivity, etc
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be flexible to work 12 hour work shift and rotate day/night shifts as needed
