Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the Singapore-based DC SSD Firmware Media Management team, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and career development
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and inclusion
- Serve as Firmware Component Lead for Media Management in Data Center SSD programs
- Own firmware component responsibilities including resource planning, scope definition, execution planning, and delivery tracking
- Ensure component designs and implementations meet product requirements, quality standards, and schedule commitments
- Partner with SSD firmware project leads and cross-functional engineering teams to support successful execution and on-time delivery of firmware milestones
- Identify technical and execution risks early; drive mitigation plans and escalate appropriately
- Collaborate with the Firmware Leadership Team to improve engineering processes, development efficiency, and product quality
- Build trusted working relationships with peer managers, technical leads, and stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of relevant firmware or embedded software development experience
- Minimum 4 years of people management experience, including managing managers or senior technical leads
- Experience delivering firmware in complex, cross-functional product environments
- Strong communication, planning, and execution skills
- Demonstrated success scaling teams, developing leaders, and driving execution across multiple projects or components
- Strong critical thinking and cross-organizational influence skills
- Experience with Data Center SSD firmware, NAND flash, storage subsystems, or components related to media management
- Experience driving firmware projects in a matrixed, global engineering environment
- Demonstrated success in talent development and team scaling
- Familiarity with continuous improvement, engineering process optimization, and quality metrics
