Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the compliance with regulatory and contractual safety requirements set by the Land Transport Authority (LTA)
  • Maintain and uphold the ISO 39001 standard for Road Traffic Safety Management
  • Keep the Bus Safety Management System updated across all relevant departments
  • Conduct regular review of the Bus Safety Work Plan, including Safety KPIs by reviewing, developing and excellence implementation
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to enhance safety in bus operations
  • Direct and/or participate in the investigation of traffic accident and workplace incidents, derive casual factors leading to the incident and develop recommendations to prevent similar occurrence
  • Maintain a digitalized database of accident cases for data analysis and trend identification
  • Analyse accident reports to determine root causes and propose preventive measures
  • Provide expert safety management advice to internal departments and key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with authorities and agencies to conduct Public Safety Awareness Engagements
  • Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance bus operational safety

Requirements

  • Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) certification is preferred
  • Additional certifications (e.g., Fire Safety Manager, ISO Lead Auditor) are advantageous
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in workplace safety and health, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role
  • Thorough knowledge of WSH regulations and standards
  • Data management and use of visualisation software
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to advocate for safety and influence others
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess risks and implement effective solutions
  • Experience in incident investigation and risk management
  • Good knowledge in Quality Management System
  • Possess positive attitude and good communications skills with ability to work across functional teams
  • Able to work independently and under pressure of tight timeline, self-motivated, resourceful, and organized
  • Willingness/required to work outside normal office hours and/or shift hours to perform audits
