Key Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the national priorities and industry needs for various sectors under the USS domain, in line with national strategies such as Singapore Green Plan 2030 and various Industry Transformation Maps.
- Work alongside public research performers (e.g. IHLs and A*STAR RIs) with the relevant competencies and capabilities to address national and industry needs for various sectors under the USS domain.
- Understand and leverage I&E competencies and resources (e.g. funding initiatives and test-bedding / deployment opportunities) of various agencies to advance technology development and translation efforts for the USS domain.
- Oversee grant management activities for project funding (from pre-award to post-award) to advance translation of technologies towards first deployment.
- Identify challenges which may hinder technology development and translation efforts for the USS domain, and where necessary, surface these issues to relevant authorities for resolution.
- Contribute to cross-sharing of networks and experiences to leverage and strengthen WOG's I&E capabilities and Singapore's innovation ecosystem for the USS domain.
- Work alongside the Director to organise the team for effective deployment, and regularly review strategies and tactics to ensure the team is on track to achieve deliverables.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of relevant working experience in innovation and industry development work, preferably in one or more sectors from the USS space, such as Environmental Services, Water and Agri-Food.
- Prior experience in managing grants across the entire life cycle from pre-award to post-award.
- Demonstrated prior experience and competencies in leading and guiding a high-performing team towards success.
- Comfortable to engage various internal and external stakeholders (e.g. researchers, companies, government agencies, etc) at the middle-senior management level.
- Able to identify and contextualise issues raised by stakeholders, and manage them appropriately.
- Effective and thoughtful communicator, with strong writing and presentation skills.
- Willing, adaptable and flexible to take on additional tasks beyond the job description.
