Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Resident Engineer on-site in supervising and inspecting construction work on-site to ensure that all works comply with statutory and client requirements.
- Work closely with C&S QP, Resident Engineer and other Resident Technical Officers and contractors to resolve site issues and ensure timely project completion.
- Supervise and coordinate day‑to‑day civil and structural works in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, and the Building Control Act.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or delays, and implement timely corrective actions.
- Conduct regular inspections and oversee quality control to maintain high construction standards.
- Maintain accurate site records, monitor construction schedules, ensure safety compliance, and attend project-related meetings.
- Carry out regular site checks on contractors & ensure compliance with health and work safety per MOM regulations.
- Conduct inspections and supervision of material/ workmanship sample tests, including overseas fabrication yard inspections when required.
- Report defects and non‑conformances promptly to the Consultant; issue instructions to the Main Contractor for testing, investigation, and follow-up actions.
- Inspect façade works, waterproofing systems, architectural finishes, and specialist installations such as balustrades and structural steel components.
Requirements
- Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience as an RTO.
- At least five (5) years of experience in site management and supervision of major construction works such as buildings, earthworks, drainage, and pavements.
- Possess a Diploma from a Polytechnic, BCA Academy, or other relevant qualifications.
- Accredited with the Joint Accreditation Committee (JAC) of the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) and the Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore (ACES).
- Possess a valid Building Construction Supervisors Safety (BCSS) Certificate.
- Conversant with contract administration and statutory requirements for site supervision.
- Experience with quality control procedures and preparation/submission of progress reports.
- Willing to perform overtime and/or shift work when required.
