Key Responsibilities
- Work in any SMRT Maintenance Depots or facilities and comply with all Safety Requirements
- Work in rotating or fixed shifts (in accordance with MOM guidelines)
- Lead in the identification and consolidation of engineering standards for the respective mechanical, electrical and electronics system
- Develop work instructions, test parameters, test jigs and test benches to enhance workshop repair and overhaul capability
- Lead in the conduct of engineering analytics for condition monitoring data and trending of defect data to seek engineering insights and identify areas for reliability and safety improvements
- Lead in the development of condition monitoring capabilities to support the evolution from preventive to predictive maintenance
- Lead in the development of engineering solutions, propose relevant modifications and work with Ops and Maintenance team to implement and validate safety and effectiveness of the solutions
- Identify / develop / evaluate alternate parts, out-of-manual repair and modifications to support obsolescence management of existing SMRT Trains assets
- Lead in the conduct of defect investigation to identify root cause and follow-up, including developing of fault tree analysis, FEMCA and conduct of forensic investigation
- Perform review of project design specifications to support LTA and SMRT projects to ensure adequate safety, reliability, maintainability and operability considerations
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution
- At least 5 years’ working experience in managerial positions in a maintenance organization
- Previous Railway System experience would be advantageous
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable to work hands-on in a maintenance workshops environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers
- Must also be able to work in different shift timings, when required
- Adept with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis and Damage Tolerance Analysis, etc.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
- Able to work independently and as a team effectively adjusting oneself flexibly to different work situations
- Effective organizational and planning skills
- Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English
