About the role
AI summarisedThe Senior Optical Design Engineer is responsible for developing optical specifications, designing lenses and optical systems using Code V or Zemax, and integrating supplier components into new products. This role involves creating complex system models for ray tracing simulations, performing tolerance and error budgeting analyses, and analyzing optical performance metrics such as Strehl ratio, wavefront error, and point spread function. The engineer will also conduct stray light and polarization ray tracing analyses, with preferred experience in interferometry, and support design for manufacturing based on optical metrology capabilities.
