Key Responsibilities
- Support design and engineering for utility projects: prepare drawings, calculations, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with cross functional stakeholders, contractors, vendors, permitting authorities, and internal teams.
- Develop and review construction plans, shopfloor drawings, and contractor submittals.
- Perform site visits and construction observation; track progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Manage project schedules and project documentation.
- Prepare technical reports, as-built drawings, operation/maintenance manuals, and close-out packages.
- Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and utility coordination (easements, ROW permits).
- Apply engineering standards, codes, and best practices; provide technical guidance to junior staff.
- Support commissioning, start-up, testing, and handover activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or Electrical Engineering (or related).
- 3+ years' experience in utilities design/construction (municipal utilities, water/wastewater, gas, or power distribution).
- Familiarity with BAS, PCS (DeltaV), SCADA, P&ID, pipeline design, pump/station design, or electrical distribution as relevant.
- Proficient in CMMS SAP system and MS Office; Project Management software.
- Knowledge of local/state/federal permitting and utility standards/codes.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
