Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing and maintaining the Workplace Safety & Health Management System (WSHMS) according to local legislation and internal standards.
- Liaise with government agencies (MOH, AVS, SCDF, SPF, NEA, MOM) to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Advise Management on changes in Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice, and Standards regarding workplace safety & health.
- Assist in implementing risk management plans and conducting risk assessments of work activities.
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Conduct safety inspections to evaluate non-compliance and identify WSH performance gaps.
- Develop and conduct WSH training programmes, safety inductions, and drills (e.g., chemical spills, fire evacuation).
- Promote a culture of safety & health through engagement with researchers and lab users.
- Implement emergency preparedness and response plans and communicate them to stakeholders.
- Act as the secretariat and facilitate the operations of the WSH committee.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in laboratory or research environments preferred.
- Familiarity with Singapore and International WSH Standards and Regulations.
- Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-driven, meticulous, and capable of multitasking.
