Key Responsibilities

  • Work in any SMRT depots, tracks or facilities
  • Work in rotating or fixed shifts (i.a.w. MOM guidelines)
  • Lead his / her team to support the division’s efforts to achieve daily, short-term, and long-term objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Lead his /her team to work effectively with Ops and Maintenance staff from the Lines as well as other engineering and projects departments to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient daily operations
  • Ensure the safety and integrity of the railway infrastructure system by reviewing, planning, monitoring, and ensuring all preventive/corrective maintenance works/inspections, adhoc projects, asset renewal works are carried out timely as per asset management plan and annual work plan
  • Identify and review safety and reliability concerns of the railway infrastructure system and develop solutions to overcome them
  • Review technical work instructions for preventive and corrective maintenance activities and/or quality procedure
  • Review and update System Hazard log and Risk register
  • Identify, review, and implement cost effective technologies, and/or changes to process and/or maintenance regime to enhance railway infrastructure system performance
  • Support LTA and SMRT projects in reviewing project design specifications and ensure their adequacy for the safety, reliability, maintainability and operability

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical / Electronics / Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution
  • At least 8 years’ working experience in managerial positions in a maintenance organisation
  • Previous Railway System experience would be advantageous
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable to work hands-on in office and site environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers
  • Must also be able to work in different shift timings, when required
  • Adept with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis and Damage Tolerance Analysis, etc.
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency in Python and MATLAB would be advantageous
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Effective organizational and planning skills
  • Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English
