Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute metabolomics experiments using LC-MS and GC-MS platforms.
  • Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods for metabolite identification and quantification.
  • Process and analyze complex biological samples (e.g., plasma, tissue, cell extracts).
  • Perform data processing, statistical analysis, and interpretation of metabolomics datasets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate metabolomics data with other omics data.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot mass spectrometry instruments and related equipment.
  • Document experimental procedures, results, and maintain laboratory notebooks.
  • Present findings at group meetings and contribute to scientific publications.

Requirements

  • PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Metabolomics, or a related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience with LC-MS and/or GC-MS instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in metabolomics data analysis software (e.g., XCMS, MZmine, Compound Discoverer).
  • Experience with sample preparation techniques for metabolomics (e.g., extraction, derivatization).
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and multivariate analysis for metabolomics data.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Publication record in peer-reviewed journals is preferred.
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools and scripting (e.g., R, Python) is a plus.
