Key Responsibilities
- Conduct real-time problem analysis on defects, equipment alarms, and statistical process control (SPC) violations
- Determine solutions by liaising with all involved parties
- Implement corrective and preventive actions
- Update process specifications and operating procedure documents
- Collaborate with technology development and device engineers to develop or transfer new processes
- Evaluate new processes, consumables, slurry, or chemicals, and perform process characterization
- Understand and improve process margin and robustness
- Analyze and identify specific equipment failure modes with equipment engineers
- Participate in cross-functional or excellence teams to improve quality, cycle time, and cost
- Drive excellence programs to resolve technical issues effectively and efficiently
- Mentor new hires and less experienced team members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering, materials science engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or mechatronics engineering
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in the semiconductor industry with a background in chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) processes
- Familiarity with CMP equipment such as AMAT MirraMesa or EBARA tools, related consumables, and slurry characteristics
- Excellent statistical thinking and creative problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Self-driven, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams
- Strong interest to use or adopt artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize workflows
