Key Responsibilities
- Subject matter expert in electronics design. Designs schematic of digital, mixed-signal and power electronics that meet requirements.
- Develop power electronics, analogue/digital, and microcontroller-based electronic circuits for products in industrial applications
- Designs embedded systems including A/D, D/A, high speed Microcontrollers, Digital Signal Processors (DSP), FPGA, I/O communications (CAN, SPI, I2C, RS485, RS232, Ethernet, and others.), volatile and non-volatile memory.
- Create detailed engineering materials including design schematics, design rules and layout guidelines, PCB layouts, tolerance analysis, design notes, FMEA, failure analysis reports and technical review documents.
- Ensure designs meet specifications and functional requirements including performance, reliability, DFM, cost and compliance with international regulatory standards (e.g. IEC, UL, EMC)
- Diagnoses issues, understanding of typical failure in digital/mixed-signal circuits and troubleshoot designs.
- Identify and communicate potential risks with appropriate mitigations and evaluate requirements on performance, quality, time, and/or cost.
Requirements
- Understanding of Embedded microcontroller-based platforms, such as 8-bit/16-bit/ARM Cortex microcontrollers.
- Ability to multi-task and operate efficiently in a fast-paced product development environment with multiple projects at various stages of completion.
- Working knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout software.
- Experience using simulation tools, developing requirements, verification and validation plans and risk analysis.
- Experience of product launches through multiple product development cycles.
- Experience is Design QA, DFM, DFX, DFMEA is essential.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently and effectively as a team.
- Highly motivated person with good communication skills and able to work within a team.
- Degree in relevant Electronics / Electrical engineering or similar.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in design and development of Electronics Hardware circuits and system.
- At least 3 years' experience in Power Electronics, Motor Drive, Battery Management, Analogue, Digital and Sensing technology.
