Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement growth strategies for short-term and long-term objectives, tailored to each specialty segment and aligned with global and regional priorities.
- Drive execution of these strategies in close partnership with country teams and cross-functional leaders, ensuring alignment and operational follow-through.
- Own revenue outcomes for defined growth segments, ensuring accountability for achieving regional growth targets.
- Lead and coordinate teams to ensure effective execution of strategic initiatives, with a strong focus on operational results rather than advisory input.
- Oversee regional launch coordination for non-platform NPIs and product enhancements, providing regional input to global teams for long-term strategy and roadmap development.
- Collaborate with GMs and senior leaders to integrate strategic growth initiatives into country-level plans and ensure seamless execution.
- Develop strategic plan, vision, and direction for multiple functional areas or integrated departments.
- Establish budgets for strategic markets in alignment with GMs, set short- and long-range objectives, and define criteria for monitoring progress and measuring success.
- Provide input to executive leadership and promote innovative concepts using detailed knowledge of the company.
- Frequently interact with Head of Region, GMs, senior management of supporting functions, and executives on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of Illumina's market position, strategy, goals, and corporate structure.
- Proven ability to manage projects, people, customer expectations, and business priorities to meet and exceed goals.
- Strong financial acumen to manage budgets, plans, and expenses for key initiatives.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills to consult with senior leadership and ensure strategies are aligned and focused on long-term results.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively on cross-functional/matrixed teams, with a proven track record of influencing others with and without authority.
- Experience leading direct, indirect, and virtual teams in a matrixed environment, with successful leadership and coaching experience.
- Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with senior leaders throughout the company and external stakeholders.
- Experience collaborating across global time zones and cultures.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including overnight/weekend travel.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (Master's) preferred.
- Typically 20+ years of related experience, with 12+ years of applicable management experience.
- 10+ years of commercial management experience.
- 10+ years of experience in healthcare/diagnostic marketing or sales.
- 5+ years of experience working with clinical genomics methods or technologies.
