Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve close-loop control algorithms for coupling of physical and numerical simulation in real-time (cyber-physical systems), taking into account kinematic observer, force observer, sensor fusion, friction compensation, delay compensation, force allocation, feed-forward and feedback.
- Support and contribute to a larger team of cyber-physical systems in terms of development, back-testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Contribute to executing tasks and meeting deliverables under research grants and industry projects.
- Collaborate with industry partners, affiliated research institutes and other relevant stakeholders to contribute to grant proposals for research funding consistent with the strategic goals of TCOMS.
Requirements
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in designing and developing NI LabVIEW-based data acquisition and control systems for ocean basin model testing or similar environments.
- Experience in developing LabVIEW applications for Windows and Real-Time (RT) Linux environments.
- Proficiency in integrating National Instruments (NI) hardware systems such as PXI, cRIO, and CompactDAQ into the testing framework.
